Vice President Kamala Harris is fighting back against all the misinformation that's been making the rounds online throughout her time on the campaign trail.

On Tuesday, October 15, the Democratic nominee for president sat down with The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne Tha God to discuss her policies and respond to concerns from voters. Within the first few minutes of the conversation, Charlamagne had to get a few burning questions out of the way. He pressed Harris on why she repeats herself after TV shows like "Saturday Night Live" recently made fun of her. The Vice President said that tactic is part of her overall "discipline."

"That would be called discipline," Harris replied before she praised SNL's Maya Rudolph for her accurate impersonation. "I have nothing but admiration for the comedy. It's important to be able to laugh at yourself and each other in the spirit of obviously comedy and not belittling people like my opponent would do."

In regard to the allegations of being scripted, Harris maintained that certain talking points must be repeated in order to get her message about what she stand for and the issues that are stake during this election cycle. In her eyes, "that requires repetition."

"Repetition is important," she explained. "And for that reason, yes — at my rallies, I say the same thing when I go to Detroit as I do in Philly, as I do wherever I am, to make sure people hear and receive what I think are some of the most critical issues in this election."

Later in their conversation, Charlamagne mentioned the rumors about her time as a state prosecutor in her home state of California. Over the years, people online have regurgitated a claim that Harris prosecuted thousands of Black men for marijuana offenses in San Francisco. Harris tackled the claim head-on and flat-out denied her involvement with those cases.

"It's just simply not true," she said. "Public defenders who were around those days will tell you I was the most progressive prosecutor in California on marijuana cases and would not send people to jail for simple possession of weed and, as Vice President, have been a champion for bringing marijuana down on the schedule so instead of it being ranked up there with heroin, we bring it down."

She also explained that she's for the legalization of marijuana. As president, Harris wants to work on decriminalizing marijuana "because I know exactly how those laws are being used to disproportionally impact certain populations and specifically Black men."
