CA Couple Charged With Hate Crime For Painting Over BLM Mural [VIDEO]

A California couple is facing charges of a hate crime after they were caught on video vandalizing a Black Lives Matter mural.

42-year-old Nicole Anderson and 53-David Nelson were charged Tuesday with several misdemeanor counts, including a hate crime.

The pair tried to paint over the street mural while trading insults with people nearby.

The mural had been given the green light from city officials in Martinez, California.

"Black Lives Matter" was painted on the street in front of a downtown courthouse on July 4.

After the painting was done, Anderson started painting over the words.

Nelson could be heard on the video saying, "We're sick of this narrative. There is no oppression. There is no racism. It's a leftist lie."

Both face a year in county jail if convicted.
